Built around a fun, easy-to-follow A-Z format, this book helps young readers learn the alphabet while discovering the artists, sounds, and icons that define Drum & Bass culture. Each letter introduces a new part of the scene, blending early learning with music, movement, and imagination.

What started as a throwaway idea in a group chat between friends and longtime ravers quickly grew into something much bigger. A few rough sketches & in-jokes quickly became a genuine passion project, led by Charlie Wright, who grew up with Drum & Bass and was now raising family of his own.

Charlie wanted to create something that could be shared between generations. A book for DnB lovers and their children. A way of passing down the energy, creativity, community and joy that this music has given us over the years.

This project was never about trends or commercial hype. It came from a real love for the culture and the memories tied to it: the DJs, the MCs, the clubs, the records, the pirate radio sets, and the friendships. Drum & Bass has shaped so many of our lives, and this book is our small way of celebrating that.

We’re hugely grateful to every artist, label and club featured in the book, and to the wider scene that continues to inspire people across generations. Without their contribution, none of this would exist. <3
